Florida Association of Hunger Relief Ministries

Have you ever been HUNGRY, really HUNGRY, we have thousands hungry children, elderly and homeless goin to bed hungry every night. Hunger is a plague on our society, one in six families are experiencing hunger and need to find assistance from a hunger relief organization. There is no relief in site, we need to join our resources together and assist our hungry children, elderly, homeless and low-income families.

Florida Association of Hunger Relief Ministries (FAHRM) partners with Faith-based and Community Hunger Relief Charities and are working together to end hunger in Florida. We represent food banks, food pantries and soup kitchens throughout Florida. FAHRM helps the many  hunger relief organizations that do not have funds to pay for food that some of the food banks charge. We will bring food into Florida and distribute that food to hunger relief organizations throughout our State free of any fees. We’re writting grants to bring food into Florida for our partnering hunger reilief ministries.

If we look at what is going on now in some of the hunger relief BUSINESSES , the public would be up in arms. They would be calling their government screaming for change. Many hunger relief organizations have  gotten off track and think this is all about BUSINESS and not about hungry children and their  families. If we don’t speak up this will get worse before it gets better. Remember, once you speak up, you are labeled a trouble maker, when more people get informed, things will change. We  expect problems from those that are in partnership with the hunger relief BUSINESSES that want to make this all about dollars and cents. I believe all we have to do is keep telling the truth and most people are good people and right will prevail.

I am so encouraged with the calls and emails I am receiving about our FAHRM website, we are hearing a lot about what is happening throughout Florida. We will be putting in our newsletter some of these comments, without the names of the people that send them. Some are afraid of being cut off from food if their names are revealed.

We can do so much good if we all work together to end hunger, we feed the whole world, why are our children and elderly going to bed hungry every night? If we recycled all the good nutritional food that is thrown out every day, we would not have one hungry person in this country.
